Thymosin alpha-1 (thymalfasin) is an N-acetylated thymic peptide of 28 residues, studied as a regulator of immune cells. This vial contains 10 mg of it as freeze-dried powder, double the 5 mg main fill, with its own lot number and certificate. Its literature includes dendritic cell studies in mice and clinical trials in hepatitis and sepsis.

What the research covers
In dendritic cells exposed to Aspergillus, thymosin alpha-1 drove maturation and interleukin-12 production through MyD88 and Toll-like receptor signalling, and it protected transplanted mice from aspergillosis1. Is the 10 mg vial the same peptide as the 5 mg?
Yes: Ac-SDAAVDTSSEITTKDLKEKKEVVEEAEN-OH, theoretical mass 3108.3 Da, freeze-dried. The 10 mg fill is produced and tested as a separate lot, so its lot number and certificate are its own.
What does 10 mg come to in molar terms?
About 3.2 µmol, using the certificate's theoretical mass of 3108.3 Da. Residual water in the powder, which the certificate reports, puts the true figure slightly lower. In 2 mL of diluent that is a solution of roughly 1.6 mM.
Is the larger fill stored differently?
Not while sealed: −20 °C, dry and dark, as for the 5 mg vial. A larger fill can mean a reconstituted solution kept longer at 2 to 8 °C, so plan the volume around how quickly it will be used.
