Semaglutide is an acylated GLP-1 analogue that acts at the GLP-1 receptor, and this listing supplies 20 mg of it as freeze-dried powder, the second largest of five fills. What the research covers
Willard and colleagues followed GLP-1 receptor signalling through three readouts, cAMP generation, β-arrestin recruitment and receptor internalisation, and showed that tirzepatide favoured cAMP and internalised the receptor less than native GLP-11. Islet experiments in the same paper pointed to β-arrestin1 as a brake on GLP-1-driven insulin release1. Semaglutide’s own receptor affinity was reported as 0.38 nM in its discovery paper2. Frequently asked questions
What does the purity figure on the certificate tell me?
RP-HPLC purity is the share of detected material that elutes as the main semaglutide peak. Identity comes from the LC-MS mass, read against 4113.6 Da. Neither test measures receptor activity, so functional experiments still need their own controls.
How much semaglutide is 20 mg in moles?
About 4.9 µmol at 4113.6 Da, a little lower once the certificate's water content is allowed for. A larger fill also means more solution to keep at 2 to 8 °C after reconstitution, so size the diluent volume to the work planned.
