Testagen is the Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly tetrapeptide (KEDG) from the Khavinson bioregulator series. This listing holds 20 mg of it as a sterile solution in a metered nasal spray bottle. The KEDG literature is limited to chickens, hens and cultured HeLa cells, and none of it used the nasal route. The series’ developers link Testagen to the testis, a tissue that none of these studies examined.

What is in the bottle
The bottle contains 20 mg of Testagen in bacteriostatic water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative, at no more than 0.2% w/v. At the certificate’s theoretical mass of 447.4 Da, 20 mg is about 45 µmol. The peptide carries no hazard classification on the safety data sheet. Benzyl alcohol is classed as harmful if swallowed or inhaled, a serious eye irritant and a possible cause of allergic skin reactions.
Store the bottle upright and capped at 2 to 8 °C, out of the light, and never freeze it. For dry peptide, the Testagen 20 mg vial holds the same amount as powder, and peptide storage and stability covers general handling of peptide solutions.
What the research covers
Testagen is one of the di-, tri- and tetrapeptides that Khavinson’s group synthesised as analogues of small peptides isolated from organs and tissues1. The earliest KEDG study cited here, from 2008, used chickens whose pituitary had been removed shortly after hatching. After treatment with KEDG or Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, the birds showed higher thyrotropic and thyroid hormone concentrations and recovery of thyroid structure2. The abstract gives no group sizes or hormone values. In a separate cell study, fluorescently labelled Testagen entered HeLa cells and reached the nucleus and nucleolus3. HeLa is a human cancer cell line, so uptake there says little about any particular tissue. Both papers were published in Russian journals in English translation.
No reference here tested KEDG by a nasal route, and none measured whether a 447.4 Da tetrapeptide crosses the nasal lining or reaches the brain. Nasal delivery of peptides has a literature of its own, but none of the papers on this page come from it. Nor does any paper describe Testagen’s behaviour in solution, and the testicular role the developers assign to it is not examined either; the cited studies concern the pituitary-thyroid axis in birds and uptake into cells. How each lot is tested
Every lot is tested in PrymaLab’s own laboratory in Ashland, Kentucky before release: RP-HPLC for purity, LC-MS for identity, Karl Fischer titration for water, LAL for endotoxin and USP <71> for sterility. Frequently asked questions
Is the spray the same Testagen as the vial?
Yes, the same Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly tetrapeptide described in the specifications. The vial holds it as freeze-dried powder kept at −20 °C, while the spray holds 20 mg already dissolved in bacteriostatic water, kept cold at 2 to 8 °C and never frozen.
Has Testagen been studied as a nasal spray?
Not in any paper cited here. The KEDG studies used hypophysectomised chickens, old hens and HeLa cells, and none of them involved the nose. There are no published findings specific to a nasal format.
Which lot does the certificate describe?
