Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide growth hormone secretagogue: GHRP-6 with a methyl group added to the tryptophan at position 2. This vial holds 5 mg of freeze-dried hexarelin, two and a half times the 2 mg main fill, made and tested as its own lot. Studies of hexarelin cover growth hormone release in people and its binding to CD36 in the heart.

What the research covers
Hexarelin binds the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, the G protein-coupled receptor of the pituitary and hypothalamus that was shown in 1996 to be the target of this class1. It also binds CD36, a scavenger receptor that carries oxidised LDL into macrophages; the hexarelin site maps to residues 132 to 177 of CD36 and overlaps the oxidised LDL site2. Is the 5 mg vial the same compound as the 2 mg?
Yes. Both hold hexarelin with the sequence H-H-[D-2-MeTrp]-A-W-[D-Phe]-K-NH2 and a theoretical mass of 887.1 Da. The 5 mg fill is a separate lot, so it has its own lot number and its own certificate in the panel on this page.
How many micromoles does 5 mg represent?
About 5.6 µmol, calculated from the theoretical mass of 887.1 Da. The certificate reports the powder's water content, and allowing for it brings the peptide figure slightly below 5.6.
When is the 5 mg fill the better choice?
When the work needs more hexarelin than one 2 mg vial provides, within the time your laboratory allows a reconstituted solution to stand at 2 to 8 °C. Sealed storage is the same for both fills: −20 °C, dry and dark.
